Subject: Introducing Biscuit!!!!

From Sandy:

This is Biscuit, who joined our home on Saturday, the 11th. Punkie and Travis had called us on Friday, the 10th, while they were running errands to tell us that they were at Petsmart and there was an adorable kitten there who looked almost exactly like Travis’ Topper (the white kitten we got him last October for his birthday). They wanted us to come up and take a look. Of course, we said no so the next thing we know, Gerry’s phone rings and Punkie had taken a picture of the kitten and sent it to him.

Well, actually, we DID need kitty litter and more Laxatone for Cinnamon, so off we went. Got the litter, the Laxatone, looked at the kitten and left. It was too hot to cook so we went out to dinner at Terry’s Billiards to check the pool schedule, since we knew we would be starting pool in the next couple of weeks.

While we were at Terry’s, we sat and started talking about names. I laughed at Gerry and said that if we were actually discussing names, did that mean we were going back to Petsmart? Fast forward to the end of the long story and on the way home, yep, we stopped again at Petsmart. Filled out our adoption application and came home after being allowed to hold and play with the kitten.

It was a neighboring county that was sponsoring the cats that weekend so we didn’t get the call until almost 8 p.m. on Saturday night that we had been approved. So we got a carrier and off we went.

Biscuit got his name because when I held him, he just snuggled up against me but when Gerry held him, he climbed up to Gerry’s neck and started kneading. Since the kitty was “making biscuits,” he became Biscuit. He’s only 3 months old (birthdate of 5-7) and just the cutest, most loving kitten. He very definitely has an Oriental type face (long and pointed with the huge bat ears) and a big voice for such a little kitten.

For the most part, the hissing is over. Snowy has already adopted him, as the baby nurses on that little pad on the back of Snowy’s wrist, making sucking and slobbering noises that I can hear into the next room. Our only hold-out in the hissing area is Joey, which we expected. But even she will go up to him and smell him and check him out, but she wants to be the one making the first move. If he comes up to HER, that’s a problem. But last night, we had everyone in the living room, playing with the mylar tassle wand and there was no hissing, fighting or anything.

Right now, we’re totally blaming Travis for this one. He told Gerry on the phone that if we didn’t adopt Biscuit, then “Grandpa is such a mean grandpa!” Yeah, right.

That brings us to six…………and that’s IT. NO MORE. Really. Truly. No more.
