Recall, in the wher novel, that Kindan's father used to fly on his wher's back at night. I totally forget what color he had--a brown?--but that indicates that they're at least as big as draft horses, to be able to support a human--even a small human, but I think the father was a pretty sturdy man.

And thinking back, seeing as whers were around the same size (but a bit smaller, I think) as the original dragons, it sounds right. I also don't think there's as dramatic a size difference in the colors, but that's purely logical speculation on my part. So I would assume a gold wher to be at least the size of a very large horse and capable of hauling around a sizable human in the air at night, with some effort. Greens would probably be the size of small horses, perhaps even large ponies, but that's a guess, seeing as we have no real idea of how much the colors differ in size.

My two cents, for what it's worth.
