The case was documented with our DA (Animal control came out and took pictures and the owners of the animals identified that they did in fact belong to them so there's no problem there), and we're following it up. If those people don't come to us in a week with settlement of some kind, we're taking them to court. We give them a week.

And no, it's not just pit bulls. There was a golden labrador (that was the second dog) going after her too. Our dog is from the same stock, it's NOT the dog's fault, that's what they're bred to do. It's not just pit bulls, the instinct to kill is the instinct to survive in animals. We don't kid ourselves. My riding teacher's German shepherd killed a sheep and she was a responsible owner and put him down when she saw him come in from the neighboring pasture with blood on his muzzle. She paid them twice what they had for their sheep. Even if it hurts you to put your dog down, it's saving lives. If it was MY dog and I knew she had been at horses, I'd put her down the first time. It would hurt, but now I know it hurts so many more to let a dog like that live. Except we don't give her the chance to do something like that. We keep her secure.
But people...
