Subject: Two ideas to put $$$ in NJ budget

The first one was brought up on PINKY'S show. GIFT CERTIFICATES. When someone does not use a gift certificate, shouldn't it go to the UNCLAIMED FUNDS of the state???? PINKY discussed this at length one day. I have no idea, what the total $$ amount is on gift certificates that do not get used is, but after hearing PINKyS show that day,I think that it is quite a lot of money that ,if the certificates do not get redeemed, does the $$ really belong to the store that took the money?????

The second is EBAY, I have heard that New Jersey is THE biggest user of EBAY. I have also heard that 40 states (don't know if NJ is in one),are working together to devise a way of collecting taxes from EBAY transactions. OK so- it might not be a big deal if I sell my beannie baby collection, but there is big business in online sales. Not only that, but online businesses don't have to worry about shoplifters, trip & fall lawsuits, and they can wear pajamas to work. If everyone else has to pay sales tax, ??????

Normally, I wouldn't open my big mouth about loopholes like this, but with the clock ticking on VLTs,(slot machines at racetracks),?????

I'd rather leave the internet sales taxes out of the whole tax equation, including e-bay. Then whats next- garage/yard sales?

In this area you have a mostly service oriented employment - casinos, waiters/waitress, cocktail servers. Summer seasonal workers in restaurants, amusement parks, lawnmowers and many more. I know plenty of people who claim no more than 2/3 of the actual income they actually make. If these people paid the REAL amount they claim on their earnings, everyones taxes would go down.
