That is just a horrible and sad situation. My prayers go out to the family. It'll cost Duke Millions I believe.

Yet , I do think that this is an extreme example and believe most malpractice lawsuits (from what I've read)are usually settled for less than 250k. And most filed, I think its 75%, are unsuccessful against the plantiffs. The media usually loves to run these stories.

one, not most of the crap that gets through the courts, like hand injuries when picking up boxes, woops, wrong type of insurance! That's "buddy I'm paying you back" insurance.
