It's bringing it back to basics really. Traditional Set is about technique and less about style preference and choreography. Not knowing which light forces dancing both light rounds all the time making for a better all around dancer. (NT) -- jmo, 12:09:41 05/12/13 Sun

There are several schools in the area, but you definitely need a car to get to them. Golden Harp is the closest at 20 minutes away, but there's also the Shamrock and Coogan schools as well as the Mucahy Academy. I've known several girls who travel down to the Fairfield area or up to Boston for class so they could stay with their old schools. Subject: To anyone coming up from the cape...there is a very bad 9 car accident on Rte 3 at exit 12 . I just passed it no police on scene yet and traffic is already stopped avoid if you can and pass word to anyone at the feis

I was just wondering if anyone else had a problem getting a refund for the Forbes Feis. I had emailed the school in March that we would not be able to attend the new date, and got a reply right back asking for check amount and then ....nothing.... I have followed up with a couple more emails and still haven't heard back. Has anyone else had a problem?

On May 5, 2013, the Washington, DC area Irish Dance schools hosted Dance out For Jane DC at four different locations. The events raised in excess of $10,000 so far. You could go to the feis like 2 hours before your competition is posted to start and buy one at the feis. I have already registered (and know that I could contact the feis committee), but I was wondering if anyone here could answer before I bother them. Between efeis and the syllabus, I wasn't sure whether a) OC was single or double age groups, and b) whether OC was two rounds or three. Can anyone help?

Both questions are answered on the syllabus. The OC groups are as follows: U9, U10, U12, U14, U16 and 16+. So U10 is a single age group, but U12, U14, and U16 are double age groups. -Folding chair in pink carrier. Looks nice in my Living Room which has no furniture since it is now a dance studio.
-Sunglasses, non-prescription. Big ones!
-Faded Glory fuzzy hoodie (pink and black with hearts and squiggly designs) sz 14-16. Really comfy.
-White kick pants complete with tanner.
-Size 4 1/2 Fay's black bottom hard shoes (uh oh, I know where you'll be when you discover them missing and your TC will NOT be happy. Or your Mom).
-Purple fuzzy Children's Place jacket size 10-12 (yeah, it fits my dd).
-1 Shrek croc (that would be the "right foot")
-Grey Circo sweat pants sz 10-12 ( also fit my dd)
-Silver hand mirror (WARNING: it says I'm the fairest of them all so you might'n want it back)
-Pink Abercrombie sweat pants sz XL (you're lucky they don't fit my daughter).
-Small zipper embroidered bag with hair clips (that are screaming "let me out!")
-Black New York Irish Dance Company tank top sz S (might keep that one)
-Single ghillie sz 8 1/2 (will look for dancer with one black bottom poodle sock at next feis)
-2 sombreros (which makes me think I missed a great Contemporary set piece on the cafeteria stage).
-Pink Airwalk "Toms" type shoes. Sz 13 1/2. Strangely, there's two of them. (One for each foot for those who require clarification).
-Black/grey checkered Vans sneakers . Again, full set. And is it grey or gray?
-Maroonish red Florida State fleece pullover.Go Florida!
-Kildare white hoodie size M. Hello? Anyone from Kildare? (school, not County).
-1 light blue Ked-type sneaker. Left foot this time.
-Size 3 1/2 ghillies. Not good on my brands but definitely not Fay's therefore I can't keep them since TC insists on Fay's. Bummer. they're in really good condition.

Subject: Hartford Feis deadline for entries is tomorrow. You can sign up at efeis. The stages were replaced last year (donated by Petra Construction). This is a fun, old fashioned feis. It starts at 10am and is finished around 4 or 5pm. Bring your tents and make a day of it!

I know it is early to think about this fall. When most are just trying to get through Nationals. I am just wondering if anyone knows if the team age groups will remain the same as last year. The age groups were U8, U10 or will the groups go back as they were in 2011 U9, U12? Just curious really.

Outdoor feis...tends to always be really warm and humid for some reason. We have only done grades at this one. Runs farily close to on time as I recall. Looking at the Hartford feis run by The Irish American Home Society on June 2nd. Never heard of the people who are running it and can't find much information... Has anyone ever attended it and if so how did it run?

Only stages are covered with a tent. There are not a lot of shady spots and they fill up fast so bring a pop up tent if you have one. Special thanks to all of the Lynn committee heads and the families who volunteered throughout the day - we really could not have done it without you! Big thanks to Jim and Alan from Feisweb who, as always, provided super fast tabulation of those results. Our adjudicators and musicians were awesome and we thank them for their professionalism. I will be posting lost and found items later today - including the Gavin!

We are working on setting up an on-line method for all of you who wished to buy the LOVE T shirts for the Richard family fund-raiser. More details to follow. We sold out of the T shirts and will be presenting the Richard family with a generous donation thanks to all of the loving support from our ID community - really awesome.

There are several schools in the area, but you definitely need a car to get to them. Golden Harp is the closest at 20 minutes away, but there's also the Shamrock and Coogan schools as well as the Mucahy Academy. I've known several girls who travel down to the Fairfield area or up to Boston for class so they could stay with their old schools. Both questions are answered on the syllabus. The OC groups are as follows: U9, U10, U12, U14, U16 and 16+. So U10 is a single age group, but U12, U14, and U16 are double age groups.
