Subject: world qualifiers from wednesday night

Where are you finding any of the world qualifiers anyway? Do you go to the NAN's website and look at results??? I agree....when will they announce the others???? I wet papertowels and stuff into armpits--let dry. Once the dress is odor-free we stuff dryer sheets into it to keep it that way. Hi All, Or should I say Y�all? After a week in Nashville, that word has crept into my vocabulary. Now that Nationals is over it�s time to think about �feis�n� the rest of the summer. First Reply -- ne mom, 09:49:13 07/06/08 Sun I had gone down expecting little assistance from the concierge for off-property dining, after all they work for Gaylord. I simply mapquested "nearby restaurants" and found many moderately priced and inexpensive places within easy walking distance. We never took the shuttle to the mall, only a 5-10 minute walk. (NT) -- amother mom, 10:23:45 07/06/08 Sun we took a cab to a supermarket and bought water , fruit, cereal, milk, snacks and sandwich fixins for the week. Refrigerators were in each room or by request free of charge (NT) -- share cab w/ other family. way cheaper, 13:19:18 07/06/08 Sun Sorry, but any other hotel of that level I've stayed in (and there have been many) have had wonderfully helpful concierges. Most understand that guests like a change from the hotel offerings. (NT) -- OP, 07:59:03 07/07/08 Mon I agree food was scarce for place this size! Big restaurants were pricey & reasonable ones were packed. I did find the efforts of the restaurant staff to be commendable & there seemed to be decent variety at the buffet outside Delta. Maybe keeping that open later, or setting up another in another area for late dinners. We tend to eat our first "meal" after awards & hard to find chicken fingers at 10-11 PM! (NT) -- Otherwise LOVE Opryland hotel, 09:58:36 07/07/08 Mon Yes, we wound up in the Cascades seafood place one night after awards and a TINY cup of soup was $8! Pizza was closed and less expensive places had an hour wait. (more) -- Will plan better next year, 07:28:45 07/08/08 Tue You should try walking to the mall! It really isn't all that bad and it's kind of refreshing to breathe "real" air, even if it is hot. We ate at the mall restaurants or food court each night and it was SOOOO worth the $$ (NT) -- friend, 13:50:11 07/07/08 Mon It took about 5 - 10 minutes to walk to the mall from the delta lobby. There were numerous reasonably priced restaurants and a food court at the mall. We never ate at the venue AT ALL! I wish you had asked some of the Seasoned Nashville Attendees. Prices were OUTRAGEOUS and changed from place to place. Gaylord has changed so much since we were last there. Food court replaced by waterside buffet. My daughter has been dancing for 10 years and I am sure Irish dance will be in her life forever, one way or another and as a parent I couldn�t be prouder. Yes there are times that it gets political and the edges get a little frayed but overall Irish dance has allowed my daughter to grow into a beautiful young woman, with fierce friends, dedication, confidence, humbleness, desire to do better, always reaching for the next goal and a strength of character I wish I could have. Sometimes the money gets tight, there are tears, and sprains but the investment of Irish Dance is the best life insurance policy we could have given our daughter. They said last night at the awards that they would be posting on the website all the girls who had qualified for Worlds. As of yet, I have seen nothing... There were 69 realled dancers in U10 and 17 dancers qualified for Worlds. No one wants to man the door. DD's shouldn't have to pay an admission fee, they've already paid to dance. Some dancers too are old enough to drive themselves and don't go with a parent, they have to pay this additional fee too, or their entry is not accepted w/o fee included. It's not fair. (NT) -- Hoping for better solution, no double dipping during tough times!, 05:07:45 07/06/08 Sun It is what it is...only once per family which is as fair as it can be. If DD goes with someone else you have to still pay. It may not seem fair to you, but it is workable and pretty fair to the majority so that is that. There is a shuttle but it isn't free - and if your group can fit in one taxi, I think a taxi is the cheaper option.
