Subject: For those of you at the Harvest Feis today - how do you feel about the pro photographers being able to to take pic of anyone they wanta nd then post to the web without express parental permission? I'm not sure I like this idea, and I'm not sure I would want to do it again.

You never know who is checking out these pictures. Especially when they may post what school the kids go to, what town they are from, etc... That's too much info to go along with a young girls pic on the internet. Call me overprotective, but I have an aquaintance that works with closing down pedo sites, and this is exactly the kind of stuff they love. Thank you HQ - this is always such a nice day. we were there at the end and everyone was as happy and polite as at the beginning. Loved the Halloween themed awards - thankyou for your generosity with the sashes. You really made my daughters day. She's always wanted a sash. At 9:30 they were still dancing Advanced Beginners and hadn't even started Novice group. God forbid we went just for Traditional set dancing at 11:30 which of course did not start until 2pm. We suffered through the long waits, the sweltering gym (because it always seems to rain) and the long waits. Each year I hoped it would get better and it never did. The venue is too small and they do not hire enough judges, hence the wait. I'll answer my own question... u15 prelim started at 5:10pm. Waiting 3 hours+ in Qualters MS isn't exactly the best use of time. Last result given out was prelim U15- sometime between 5:30 and 6 (NT) -- was home by 7, 22:50:50 10/24/09 Sat Don't understand the comment - feis being "so far behing" I did the Feis math for Harney for two open conps and my kids dance pretty much on time and results were very fast - the only thing that has the comps running long is number of competitors...and you know that coming into the feis . Open dd's dress is for sale; our 9th solo dress, great cond.,worn at O, NANS, Worlds ...brought to class for someone to try on and while dancer trying it on, a mother of a Novice/PW dancer who just bought their first used dress came over and advised the child/parent not to pay the asking price as were asking too much...right in front of me. We don't know them well and haven't any probs w/them. What would have been the right thing to do?

Wow. Very rude and inappropriate behavior by that mom. I think I would have tried to control myself and calmly explain my rationale for the price, addressing myself to the potential buyer. Subject: Has Anyone had problems with receiving a dress from Elevation? Our dress was shipped 8 days ago

Now it has been held up in customs for 2 more days. I know they have no control over parcelforce and the USPS but this is ridiculous I paid over $160 USD for the shipping and now it looks like the desperately needed dress will not be here until next week. Not elevation but recently waited over a week for a dress to arrive -- mostly customs hold up. Nothing dressmaker can do about that unfortunately.
