I am looking at the confirmed entries for Maine Feis. There is 364 competitors confirmed. Is this normal for the NE feis? Coming from out of region and we are used to at least double if not triple the number.

I sent in my entry for Maine State past the closing date but before the late closing date which is 7/18 (entry was postmarked 7/13). Check still isn't cashed and I emailed Stillson and haven't heard anything. Does anyone think I'd be in? I've never done this feis before.

Date Posted: 09:11:26 07/09/16 Sat

Both our dds have retired and we have a professional dance floor now for sale. This sprung floor was purchased from Kiwi Wooden Floors who provide flooring for professional theaters and halls around the country. Check them out here: http://www.woodenkiwi.com/rosco.html. Our cost was $2100 and we added Marley on top and custom built wooden trim around the outside. Laid right on top of our concrete basement floor, it certainly saved our dancers' ankles and knees! Size is 15' x 11'6". Selling price $1200. Located in Vermont and must be picked up or can arrange delivery for additional cost. Please email for more details and pics. Thanks!

Talk to me about grade exams. What is the purpose, how do we know when they are and how do we sign up if our dancer wants to participate? Is it invitation only? Also I know there are several does anyone know what each level is? I see posts on them every now and then but our school has never communicated any info on them.

Awareness ribbons will be available for a $3 donation (or $20 team donation) in the convention center lobby starting Thursday evening. Two Step Productions, producers of the smash hit and fastest growing Irish dance show in the U.S., Rhythm in the Night, The Irish Dance Spectacular, will be holding auditions for future tours at the 2016 North American Irish Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida. Rhythm in the Night, The Irish Dance Spectacular, just completed its third consecutive multi-sellout and record-setting 2016 National Spring Tour. Among several of the full houses during the recent tour, Rhythm in the Night, The Irish Dance Spectacular achieved the first sellout in six years at the Struthers Library Theatre in Warren, PA since they began their 'Celebrity Series' more than six years ago, was one of the first acts to sellout the Peoples Bank Theatre in Marietta, Ohio as part of their inaugural season and was the first sellout and highest grossing act in more than five years at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in Dover, Delaware.

Auditions will be held on July 6th at the Caribe Royale Hotel Convention Center from 7:30AM-9:30AM in Antigua Rooms 3 & 4, with registration beginning at 7AM. Former lead dancer of Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, A.D.C.R.G. and owner of the Celtic Steps Dance School, Shaun Casey, will be leading the auditions with traditional dances and teaching material from Rhythm in the Night, while other key Irish dance figures will be assisting.

Justin Boros, creator, producer and director of choreography for Rhythm in the Night, The Irish Dance Spectacular, will also be in attendance meeting auditionees and making final judging decisions for future cast members. Two Step Productions will be auditioning for all lead roles, understudy and chorus dancer positions. Do you have what it takes to perform in the Irish dance phenomenon that is sweeping the country? Must be 16 years of age or older and Open level. Due to the high demand the initial 50 spots were taken in one week, so we extended 10 more slots! Register now to reserve your spot!

THE Murray Academy Feis 2016

Date Posted: 17:21:18 05/28/16 Sat

Hello Friends,

On behalf of Cara Rince, the parent group of Murray Academy, we would like to thank you for joining us at our feis this coming weekend! We have worked diligently to ensure a fun, well-organized event for all competitors. We have tried to plan for every contingency, yet are wise enough to know that some things are beyond our control. We will do our best to keep things running smoothly throughout the day. Most information can be found on our website, www.murrayacademyfeis.com, but there are a few
few additional ‘housekeeping items’ we would like to highlight:

The New Hampshire seacoast is a popular tourist destination in summer. The weekend forecast is predicting a warm, sunny weekend, which could mean heavier than normal traffic on the major highways heading north due to the tolls. Please consider this as you plan to drive up on Sunday.

Sanborn High School is a new venue for us. It is a newer school, and parking will be plentiful. The auditorium, cafeteria, and Large gym are air-conditioned; the small gymnasiums is not, so we have secured a number of large fans to keep the dancers as cool as possible.

If it is a nice day, champ awards will take place in the courtyard behind the cafeteria. If it rains, they will be inside the cafeteria. Approximate times will be posted for your convenience. Grade awards will be a the far end of the main hall, to the right of the front entrance. Postings will be in the main hall and toward the right. Results will also be posted on Twitter and our Facebook page.

If you would like photos to commemorate your dancer’s day, Murray the Moose will be with us, and your dancer can take a picture with him! Pictures will cost $10.

Please try to join us for lunch in the cafeteria. We have worked very hard to provide delicious and nutritious offerings for our guests. Additionally, we are running a bake sale to support our dancers heading to Nationals in July. We also have several wonderful vendors joining us, so please take some time to visit them if you can.

Of special note is our amazing raffle basket, worth over $500! For a photo and description of the basket, visit the Murray Academy Feis Facebook page.

If you have any questions or need help just look for our CREW wearing the bright yellow shirts.

Again, we look forward to seeing you all. We wish you safe travels.

The Murray Feis Committee

PLEASE NOTE: If you are going to North American's the late fee registration kicks in at the end of that week so to avoid late fees you may want to register beforehand.

We have a new, large, air conditioned venue! Venue and hotel information is on our website at www.greaterniagarairish.com

At this time, unless registrations are vastly different from last year, we are planning to run all grade levels in the a.m. and all PC/OC in the afternoon. This is subject to change if registration numbers don't support doing it this way.

If you have any questions you cannot find on our website or eFeis, please use the contact links on the website to let us know.

A pair of 3.5 Rutherford soft shoes was lost yesterday at the Fathers Day feis in Boston. If anyone has knowledge of where they are or may have picked them up, please let me know. We are leaving for nationals in one week.
Thanks

We will have used shoes, wigs, accessories and even a few dresses. We will also be accepting new items for the shop leading up to the day of the feis and also at the feis. Don't miss out on this opportunity to clean out your closets and turn your unneeded items into cash! (If planning to drop off items the day of the feis, please check our website in the upcoming days to print off a consignment sheet that will make your drop off easier and quicker for you.)

Could anyone who has attended the Greene-Oleary feis in the past share their experience regarding how champ stages are run? Curious if in age order (youngest to oldest) and if More than one stage is used at a time? Any information on what to expect would be appreciated. Thank you.

A few weeks ago I ordered 3 pairs of socks from Katie Luck, the only socks my dancers will wear. Much to my sadness my package was stolen from my mailbox - the USPO recorded the package as delivered but I never received it. I reached out to Katie for her mailing address so I could file a claim with the USPO (which was rejected) and to my surprise I found a package in my mailbox today sent to me by Katie...3 pairs of socks to replace the ones stolen, complete with a handwritten note. Such kindness and so thoughtful, and totally unsolicited! Not only are her socks the BEST on the market, but her customer service and care are beyond words. A small gesture, but an appreciated one. Thank you!

My daughter has danced since she was 3 years old. She is 14 now. She has not been to dance for almost 4 weeks due to other obligations and doesn't appear to have the desire to return. No one from her school has missed her or reached out to see why she is not attending classes. She did attend the Cape Feis and metaled for the first time and received no acknowledgement or encouragement from her school. They post a lot on social media but did not include her. I am not sure if she just feel's as if her school no longer cares about her or if she is really just done. I know it happens. I really do not want her to quit but dance is expensive and I also do not want force to her go if this is just a natural transition. When do kids usually stop?
