Hi Albert.
You never saw cockroaches!! on one ship we used to put white paint on the back of ours so we could tell which was ours and which were the firemens, used to pick the unpainted ones up and throw them back in their messroom.
On one ship we were put up in a hotel in Rotterdam while they took three days to fumigate.
Heard the story of a ship sunk in the war, down there two years, when they raised her there were cockies on her before she tied up, supposidly living in airbubbles eating each other.
