Your swedish port must have been similar to the port of Igarka (umpteen miles down the Yenisei river in artic russia) where we anchored off for two weeks in 1954 on Welsh Prince to load timber for the Surrey Commercial. Talk about cold...even the words froze as they came out of your mouth. The russian interpreter aboard was about 80 and looked like father xmas, but he soon got quite used to the gin bottle and readily exchanged one for a couple of bottles of vodka. Wonderful days..
