in being little more than a fishing village, liverpool was once regarded unimportant,so insignificant was itsstatus, that it wasnt even included in the 16 th century ptolemy map of england.it was the city of chester.regarded as the north wests major seaport.with the river dee its main waterway in the region.however in 1709 liverpool slowley expanded and eventually overtook as the north west:s main seaport.then bristol was overtaken to make to make liverpool the main shipping port for the west coast impotantly it also overtook the ports of spain@portugal in the african@american trades.or {the slave trade} the goree that is oppersite the liver buildings was the trading area for for slaves @the remains of ringbolts can still be found.before the 19 th century we spoke with lancashire accents.but in the first half of the century a multitude of irish immigrants came to lpool by there thousands to escape the crop famines.lipool had as many irish as it did english.the languages were crossed which resulted in the unmistakable {scouse accent}.last but not least hector, just a few yards to the through covent garden to the north stands the church of st.nicholas or as it is otherwise known the sailors church.on the pier head which is in between the liver builings @the famous landing stage are the monuments to the many thousands of seaman who lost thier lives perfoming there duty in the mercantile marine@merchant navy.just a very small portion of lpool culture hector{LEARN} unlike were you are we got culture @style you might be lucky enough to get the odd bag of burlap washed up on your shores.lpool not all bad news hector {terry scouse}.
