Yes know what you mean,however i started using Prepaid Phonecards from Go Talk (in Aussie) and have found them not only very very cheap to call most places around the World (i use UK a lot to call my Daughter)amd now save quite a bundle on calls.
You can also get Skype which is an internet Vioce call (can also be used in conjunction with your normal hand set) and that too is proving to be a great saver for many folk.
If you get Skype the other end must also have it!
