Date Posted: Saturday, February 23, 10:43:07am In reply to: Derek Toppinglift 's message, "End of voyage" on Friday, February 22, 01:05:11pm This subject certainly brings back memories, in my sea going days Rum & Coke was one of my favourite tipples, my docking bottle was "Four Bells Rum & I believe that you could only buy it on ships. Tha last time I had a bottle of this rum was when I managed to get a bottle off the manager of the Missions to Seamen (Middlesbrough) now the Baltimore Hotel. Jack the manager was a secong Engineer who sailed with the first company I sailed with he had managed to get a case sent up from the Southamton Mission by a friend of his who was manager. Happy days, Best wishes, John Aspin (Ormesby-Middlesbrough) [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
