It hadn't been an easy week. First there was the getting out of town without rousing anyones suspicion which was difficult enough between his girlfriend and his family. Well, that wasn't even the start of his difficulties. It had all started about a month ago when he decided if he couldn't break Jake out, he would get him out legally using illegal means - if that made sense to anyone but him. The nights had been spent doing odd jobs that he never wanted to admit to anyone he had done but that paid the bills that he needed to get paid. After all that, it was all taken care of now and he had just had to get to Cleveland and post the bond and get Jake. All that had been done though, he figured his girlfriend was trying to figure out what the hell his problem was. With a soft sigh, he looked over, pausing in the hallway. "Alright?" // A low breath escaped his lips as he ran a hand over his shaved head, gnawing on his lower lip for a moment before he nodded slowly. It had been more then a little suprising to have his cell door open and the guard throw his clothes at him. It had been a little unsettling and made him a little nervous until he saw his best friend - hell his brother - waiting out there for him with a smirk on his face. The ride home had been talking about what they were going to do now that he was out, getting a plan together before he went before a jury but now all he could think about was how he was about to see his girl. The fact that he was really going to be with her, even just for a litle while, made him a little emotional. Clearing his throat, he nodded once again and waited for Adam to unlock the door and push it open...

Week one spoke about missing Natalie, about worrying about Jake, wondering how Aly was doing since he knew his best friend was bound to be unceasingly drunk and moody. It spoke about how his 'rents were dealing, how Jake's 'rents were dealing, neither of their parents were dumb, they knew what went with their sons and how Jake had been the ring leader of it all. Week two delved into his feelings towards the whole situation but from week one till week fifty eight it was all basically the same and most of the scribblings focused on Natty. It was what he was noticing as he sat on the steps that led up to her room - having avoided the elevator - flipping through the notebook that he had filled with words during his stay in jail. He hadn't mentioned all that was going on in his last phone call to her because he wasn't sure what was going to happen but when Jake had shown up in cleveland and turned himself in, it had taken about two weeks for Adam to be cleared and sent on his way with a 'sincere apology' from the state for the misunderstanding. He could hardly stand to tear himself away from his best friend but he had to get home to his girl, he couldn't stand to be away from her anymore then he had to anymore - he belonged with her, needed her, desired her...and was scared shitless to see her. What if she had changed her mind about him and was just humoring him on the phone? What if she saw how much weight he had lost, how his hair had been shaved short and wasn't attracted to him as she once was? Pushing aside the what ifs, he stood slowly and climbed the steps to her floor, biting his lip as he stopped at her door and knocked softly, anxiously...

She wasn't even listening to what he was saying, though she was relishing in the sound of his voice. Partway through his explanation, she threw herself into his arms, legs around his waist and her hands holding his face as she peppered kisses from cheek to cheek to eyelid, his forehead, and down his jaw. He didn't know how he was going to tell Natty, or how he was going to face up to Aly when she found out what kind of man he really was. He'd been sitting on this porch for nearly twenty minutes, refusing to walk up the steps to Natalie's apartment because he was to much of a wimp, he had no guts or spine whatsoever. If he had any sorts of balls, he wouldn't have let his friend take the fall for him, he wouldn't have let his best friend be sitting in a five by seven foot jail cell right now. But he was, Adam, sweet, tenderhearted Adam, the good one, he was awaiting a meeting with the grand jury in the morning because he had covered for Jake. He was grateful, of course, but how was he supposed to live with that? He had actually had tears in his eyes when the cops had come in and taken Adam away in cuffs from the interrogation room. At that moment, Jake had felt like the lowest creation on earth but he just couldn�t get up the nerve to stand up and tell them that they were making a mistake, that they had the wrong guy. Adam hadn�t even talked to him about taking the fall; he had just selflessly stood up and took care of things the way he deemed they needed to be taken care of. The only thing he said was to tell Natty that he loved her and that he would call her as soon as he could. Jake had just nodded silently, biting his lip so hard he could taste the blood as it seeped out over his tongue. Plus, he had to go out and face Brandon and Gavin and it had all just been so incredibly hard and just�made him want to die. Giving up on the plain cigarette, he pulled out a laced one, lighting it up and taking a long hit before he sighed. Once he finished this he would pull out the courage to go up and tell his sister and Alyson. He knew his girlfriend was there; she was keeping Natty company and trying to keep her sane because she was just worrying so much. His brow furrowed as he ran one hand over his head, trying to figure out where he had gone so wrong in his life, when it had all started. That train of thought took so long that the joint was burning his fingers, waking him out of his reverie. It was time to face the music. With a sigh, he extinguished the paper and tossed it over the edge of the porch into the snow covered brush there before clearing his throat and heading up the stairs. He knocked quietly on the door first before he pushed his way in, his head poking around the heavy door. �Nat? Aly?� He called out before stepping in, closing the door behind him though he didn�t take off his jacket or shoes, chances were he�d be getting tossed out of there shortly anyways.

It was around nine o'clock and Adam was comfortably lounging in the recliner - watching tv. Her brows furrowed gently as she sat stiffly on the edge of a chair - eyes shifted between her brother and her boyfriend as she listened to the story in disbelief. The apartment was quiet and dim as the two young men stood out on the balcony, sharing a laced cigarette and drinking the usual Rolling Rocks. The conversation had been casual at first - talking about the infamous oh so mysterious "33" on the label - but had sooned turned to more serious matters. It was a different sight for the both of them, both males tall and oh so metro - as much as Jake denied it - with their tight graphic tee's stretched over their chests, Jake with a black track jacket stretched over it and Adam with a red one, both wearing torn and tattered jeans and flip flops despite the cool temperature and drizzling cold rain. That wasn't what was different though, the unusual thing was their serious, somber looks and quiet murmured dialogue. Usually the boys were teasing and ripping on one another or discussing the latest movie or something innane such as that but the mood was serious as they stepped back into the apartment. Jake looked agitated and stressed, his eyes shifting out the window every few moments while Adam just looked distressed. Jake headed over to the recliner, sinking down while Adam headed to stretch out on the couch, his curly head settled into the crook of his arm as they both fell silent - contemplating and pensive. Things had been so good recently that it was like they both forgot the life they left behind them, but suddenly it was back in full force like a slap in the face...

He shifted a bit, raising his head and placing it on her lap, nuzzling her face into his stomache as he let out a soft breath. He had changed so much over the past year, especially in the time that he had been with her. He had grown more sensitive to the world and so much less cynical and this harsh reminder of his past and the person he had been had unsettled him. Jake on the other hand, was as cocky as ever - still thinking he was eight feet tall and invinciable - so he didn't see why Adam was so disturbed in the latest turn in their adventurous life. Though technically Adam was finally officially living with her friend, they had yet to alter anything in the apartment so everything was still very 'Natalie' - not that it really mattered, it was just familiar and comfortable. Having arrived shortly after the other couple, they had lingered in the car for a few moments - teasing verbal and physical flirtations exchanged before she finally dragged herself out and then lead the way inside and upstairs. Her hands entangled in both of his, she stepped backwards the last few feet and then reached up to meet his lips for a long, lingering moment, her fingers rose to cup his face, and then slid around to push slowly through his hair, eyes softly shut. Definitely reluctant as she broke away, her hands slipped slowly down his chest and her eyes fluttered open before she just smiled and turned to knock on the door - as a warning to ensure that everyone inside was fully clothed - then just let them both in. "Hey kids. We're here..." She left Jake only then - after one more quick kiss - her hips swaying comfortably beneath the soft, flowing fabric of her mini, a lucious view of the backs of her tanned and toned legs offered, and headed into the kitchen, blowing a kiss to Nattie who was slouched into the couch flipping through the television channels. Rummaging through the fridge, she dug herself out a soda and then glanced back out the doorway to him. "Want something to drink, Jacob?"

The pretty pair was lounging in the main area of the apartment - laid-back and relaxed, both subdued. They had spent the morning shopping and the rainy afternoon watching movies, but they had run out of rented videos and so were just chatting absently and channel surfing on the television. Aly had announced atleast three times in the last half hour that she was heading home now, but still had yet to move - both were just too quietly content to put too much effort into anything. Stretched out on the couch - the brunette's denim-clad legs were draped over the arm and dangling off the end, head just turned to watch the television despite the awkward angle. Natalie sat nearby, one the floor with her knees bent and leaning back against the couch - black lounging pants fit to her hips and a hoodie of Adam's a comfortable size on her slight torso...

It was a combination of things really - she was pretty sure Nat and Adam wouldn't mind being alone, and the Davenports would be expecting her home, and not to mention him being drunk wasn't much encouragement.
