Author: JJ Ronda--I agree that a good cover band can be just as fun for much less. And a great way to keep the memory alive for performers who have passed on.
Subject: Yes, even the best of singers can *lose* their voices with age. Unfortunately, my voice at 39 is not nearly as good as it was at 25. :-( Part of that is lack of practice and part is due to polycystic ovary syndrome, but I digress. It is always interesting to me how a singer can sound so much like another singer. Case in point, the new, young Filipino lead singer for Journey sounds *so much* like Steve Perry it is uncanny.
In reply to: Cece 's message, "I like both bands and it's always great to see the real deal. However, if the real deal is very old, they often lose their sound, so it might just be fun to experience them in a trip down memory lane. I loved Steely Dan, but as you know, Becker and Fagin always used different studio bands, so in a way, it doesn't matter too much. It sounds like you had fun both times, and that's the important thing." on 16:17:39 10/14/13 Mon
