Vintage,French shabby chic,wooden crate,chippy aqua paint/storage/bedside/Paris apartment.

I picked up this crate from France many years ago from a local fruit/veg. market.I used it to pack some of my things in when travelling back to Greece.
* Come in France, you can have as many ones as you want *

It is very old & one o f the slats on the bottom is missing.(pic 3)
Measures approx.19 13/4'' w. x 12 1/2'' d. x 10 3/4'' h.
* very old ??? since many years you can have this kind of wooden crate *

There are many signs of age to this wonderful shabby chic crate but it is an antique & I find it charming just as it is.
**** many signs of age ? ah ? How ? antique ? does she know what it means ' antique '? because it seems than we don't have learn the same thing about ' antique ' ****

Paris apartment ??? don't know what to think about this one.She means a bobo's apartment ?

The last pic. shows the crate with anther one in shabby aqua. This is just to give a better idea of size & colour. This listing is for the shabby pink crate only...Thanks.

OMG ! Thanks for the good laught !!!!LOL !!!

[> [> LOL I'm sure there are people who would pay that much for it here, as there are probably American things we get for free/take for granted that Europeans would pay good money for. As for "antique"... in America people think it's antique if it's over 50 years old, when really it should be 100, altho in Europe, I'm guessing it would have to be MUCH older! -- The Chief, 19:20:21 06/10/12 Sun [1]

[> [> [> You're right Chief. MJ, I don't know if people dare to say yes, but each summer we sell some stuff, and each year it happens to be surprised about certain stuff than we sell. Never thought than someone could want .Big surprises.Big surprises too as a buyer too, again no so long ago, sellers on differents FM didn't know what they had . If I can give an advice if you go on flea market look for the persons no for the professionnals.Big surprises ! -- Laurence ( MJ can I e-mail you ? ), 06:55:05 06/11/12 Mon [1]

[> [> Laurence, this is hilarious! People dare, yes?! My husband is a great lover of local antique markets and still dreams he will find an original Renoir or Monet hidden in someone's old mirror, dresser, commode, etc. Maybe he needs to buy 'shabby chic' vegetable crates-- lol! -- mj, 03:23:09 06/11/12 Mon [1]

[> [> Laurence, I don't know what kind of tv shows you have over there, but we have all kinds of shows dealing with the value of used stuff of various vintages... Inside... -- The Chief, 14:58:43 06/11/12 Mon [1]

"Antiques Roadshow" started it with people bringing their valuables to a large hall where various experts would analyze the items for the cameras, often surprising people with what they were worth.

Now we have "American Pickers" (two guys travel around and "pick" collectibles by haggling over price with the owners in order to resell the items at a profit); "Storage Wars" (people bid on the entire contents of forfeited storage units, not knowing what they're getting, and hoping to hit the jackpot); "Pawn Stars" (about the items that come into a pawn shop on the Las Vegas Strip); Just to name a few!

But apparently none of these shows has analyzed the value of French market crates, or people wouldn't spend so much! LOL
