Subject: I am so shocked and sad that Lauri died. She was such a DJE fan and an absolute sweetheart. In those early days of the HB, and before that at Maeve's, we'd chat every night and Lauri was always there. We had a fab time at fanfest. She had a wry sense of humour. The first time I went to ff in 2003, Lauri, Matou, and I agreed to go one day early so we could meet for the first time. (Inside)

I remember waiting at LAX, and I saw Lauri and Matou coming down the escalator. We all recognized each other from pictures, except that L and M thought that I was short. Lauri took on her mother role as though Matou and I needed her guidance. I used to tease her about being bossy, but in fact, she was really easy to get along with.

When I went to visit judi and manette in Dallas, I stayed at judi's, and Lauri flew in from VA so we could all go to the TX JAG meet. We laughed so much. And when judi got divorced, she went to visit Lauri in VA, and loved meeting her family.

I'm so sad we lost touch. Judi and I have both looked for her in the past few years, but we couldn't contact her. Those of us who knew Lauri through the BAs (Blue Angels...founding members of the HB), the board, and at fanfest, will remember her as a lovely, funny, and happy natured person. My heart and deepest sympathy goes out to her husband, children, parents, and siblings and the rest of her family.

[> [> What sad news. She must have been relatively young. I also send my deepest condolences to her family and friends and to those of you who knew her, my deepest condolences. I bet her JAG fun and friendships were a huge part of some of the joy, laughter, and smiles of her life. -- mj, 04:05:00 07/07/12 Sat [1]
