Subject: i suspect the only place that would need to worry is the lower west side by ground zero in NY - like the marina district that collapsed in the subway series earthquake- it's all landfill.
In reply to: The Chief (If you're wondering what caused it, it was the US's $14 Trillion deficit check bouncing... think they felt *that* all the way to China?) 's message, "I live about a 90 min drive from the epicenter. I was at Target, and stood there in awe feeling it rumble my feet, watching things swing on racks, hearing the low rumble. I knew it wouldn't be a big emergency. If that's the biggest East Coast earth quake in decaces, then we're all good. It was only 0.1 magnitude below the Loma Prieta quake that leveled San Francisco during the World Series in '89. What a differenece geology makes!!" on 21:37:32 08/24/11 Wed

[> [> I heard on the radio it was all the founding fathers rolling over in their graves! My daughter is in Maryland, she said after seeing her house sway she doesn't want anything more to do with earthquakes. I told her don't worry about it you've got a hurricane coming to take your mind off it! Good thing she's a gulf coast girl, she knows just what to do. -- usmgrad, 10:44:22 08/25/11 Thu [1]
