I second the recommendation to visit the Parthenon. It's actually based on drawings of the real Parthenon made by a gentleman who visited it and made meticulous drawings of it before it was damaged in war. It was originally built as the main symbol of the Southern Exposition - not unlike a World's Fair, sort of Nashville's Eiffel Tower. As for the "Athens of the South" nickname - Nashville has 7 or 8 universities, so is a seat of learning. If you are looking for a fabulous restaurant
