  • (He hadn't missed Kyrian's slight laugh at the way he pounced on the doctor when he emerged from the hall. He didn't bother to justify his laugh with a look, simply went to the doctor to see what was going on. He paled visibly at the news about her situation and was actually relieved that the news sobered Kyrian a bit.) Can I see her? (He asked after a moment, though the way he asked was more of a demand, and he was a large enough guy to make the demaned imposing. He shifted to the side when Kyrian nudged him and tossed an indignant look at him.. he wouldn't be waiting to see her if she was conscious or not, or whatever! He needed to be by her side through this, it was important to him and he was rarely denied what he wanted in life. Kyrian hooked his hands behind his back and smiled at the doctor, playing good cop to his partner's bad cop.. it was just a typical role the two of them passed back and forth.) • He looked at the two men with a slightly raised brow before he nodded slowly. "Right this way, if you'll both just follow me." He led the way through the doors to the ER and down a hallway making one left turn before he came to a door and pushed in. The sound of machines filled the air and Shay was stretched out on the bed, flat on her back, her face turned towards her good shoulder as her eyes were closed and her chest slowly rose and fell with the rythem of her now steady breathing. She was a little pale and her shoulder was banadaged up and the gown definately wasn't the most fashionable thing but she was alive and doing ok at least. • (He could hear Kyrian's nervous breathing behind him as they walked down the hallway and wondered at just how quickly Shay had made enough of an impact on the man to make him walk down here. It sounded like he was being led to the lion's den to be sacrificed, and he couldn't help but toss a look over his shoulder, receiving a vulgar hand gesture in response. Laughing a little, he walked into the recovery room and pulled a chair up to her side, sitting down in it so that he didn't feel like he took up the whole room. Slipping his hand into hers, he reached out to brush her hair back and smiled at her.) Hey beautiful.. how are you feeling? • She opened her eyes slowly, smiling a little as she saw him. She shifted a little, wincing at the pull in her shoulder but thankfully the morphine dulled all the pain. "I want this thing out of my nose." She grumped, her brow furrowed before she looked up and saw Kyrian. A small smile lifted her lips as she gazed at him for a second, her brow furrowed a touch. He looked so worried standing there in the hospital room. "Hey there..." She murmured up to him, her eyes soft. "Look at me, all sorts of fine and stuff..." She smiled reassuringly at him before she looked back down to Remy. "Kyrian, shouldn't you be off trying to track down a shooter or something?" She questioned, giving the man subtle permission to head out since he was so obviously uncomfortable there but obviously wanting to make sure he was ok.   • She smiled and shifted up to press a warm kiss to his cheek in return, her eyes telling him she understood he was uncomfortable and she appreciated him coming with Remy. She bit her lip lightly as she looked back to Remy when Kyr was gone, a small smirk tipping one corner of her lip up as she gazed at him. "Proud of me for going and getting myself shot?" She questioned lightly, her eyes on him as she rested back in the bed. She was tired, so very tired, after the day they'd had the day before and then getting shot, well she had every right to be exhausted. She was choosing not to focus or dwell on the fact that someone had tried to kill her, instead just thinking about other things...it was easier to not freak out that way. No, I'm proud of you for being so strong and keeping it together. I've worked with grown men that have buckled and lost it with less than what you've been through. (He let out a soft sigh, listening to the whir and beep of the monitors around them. He smiled after a moment of silence and decided she might enjoy a change of subject.) I think Kyrian likes that other agent.. (He realized then that he didn't know her name and wondered how that had slipped his normally potent attention to details.) • She smiled a little at his words on why he was proud of her, shrugging her one shoulder lightly. "I've always been a tough girl." She teased softly, resting her head back, her eyes soft as they leveled on him. Her mind started to wander a little bit when Remy called Kyr adorable she had to laugh, shaking her head a little. "Don't let him hear you say that, it won't go over well." In such a short amount of time Kyrian had become very close and important to her and she could only wish him happiness if he really was into this other girl. She squeezed his hand softly, watching carefully as she spoke. "She didn't really seem like the 'I wanna get to know you' type though..." • (He laughed and nodded.) I know, I thought he was going to poke her earlier when she started talking about the case when we were leaving to come see you. (He shook his head, watching her carefully. He could read that she was tired and trying to fight sleep. He would just sit there and talk with her until she slept, and then he would have Kyrian or one of the other agents bring him something to work on from the hospital room. There would be plenty of evidence to log, or leads to follow up on.) He called her the ice princess, but I think he's already considering ways to melt her a bit. (He smirked, if anyone could cut through someone's shell, it was Kyrian.. he could be very dominating and imposing while still mantaining the ever present sense of humor.) She yawned softly, biting her lip as she looked up at Remy again, a smile on her face for a brief moment before she frowned again. "When are they going to let me out of here? Boelyn is going to be freaking out being there by himself without me to tell him what to say when, I really need to get back to the hotel." She stated, she felt fine thanks to the morphine drip and she just wanted to get back to work. She hated being laid up, when she got the flue she got so upset about it that she broke two vases in frustration and finally her mommy had come to the apartment to make her rest and take care of her. Leaning forward, he framed her face between his hands, running his thumbs over her cheekbones and keeping his soft eyes focused on her.) Shay.. settle down. • She didn't settle down and looked about ready to argue with him at everything he said until the last part when all the air seemed to rush out of her and gaze turned a little wistful, her eyes moving over his questioningly. She hadn't know if he still felt that for her, if he still cared like that or if he was just searching for a physical release with her. It had been a confusing couple of days and she had spent more of the hours wondering what the hell she was doing with him and if she had made a mistake by jumping back into bed with him so easily. Her eyes dropped down to his hand on her stomach, she enjoyed the warm, heavy weight on her flesh there, it was comforting. Quin was out on a job on the other side of the country but she was sure that he would be there as soon as he could. Once she got his assurance and sinceriest apolagy she would be ok with him once again but this was just her job as a mother. • Her eyes widened at that, the realization that someone had tried to kill her daughter, someone out there wanted her dead. "Do they know who did it? Is he in custody?" She questioned, her eyes moving back to her daughter through the window before she looked back to Remy. "I don't know if I would be so against Quin taking her home." She stated honestly, her brow furrowed as she bit her lip. If this was what it came to with her bring out here in the public eye then she would want her Shay safely tucked in at home. • Even though she hadn't been sleeping very long she stirred, her brow furrowed and she was calling for him even before she woke up fully. "Remy?" She called out, shifting a little, her brow furrowed. She hadn't been pressing the morphine drip button and with him out of the room, he hadn't been either so she was getting pretty sore. She swallowed heavily, her throat a little dry and for the first time she was wishing she had something to drink. She looked up, tears pricking her eyes as she heard Shay calling for him. "I don't know if she needs this campaign...but she obviously needs you." She stated softly, her hand trembling a little as she raised it to her lips. "Go and take care of her, I'll be in in a second." She stated, she needed a moment to compose herself, she didn't want to be a teary mess when she went in there. "They didn't need to come all the way out here..." She murmured but then smiled as Kate walked in. "Hey baby..." • She had chatted with her mom, mostly about what was going on with Remy since thats what her mom was most curious about but smiled warmly at him he came back in. She just felt more comfortable with him by her side, more secure and safe. She nodded at his instructions, bringing her arm to her chest with a slight wince before she thanked him for the drink and took a sip of it, sighing in relief as it wetted her parched throat. Once she was done she let him take it back before she immediatly found his hand again, her eyes going back to her mom. She nodded a little, looking up from her daughter to the door and then back to Remy. "He should be here any minute now, he was on a job but he said he was leaving as soon as I called, apperantly he somehow found out before I did and Mr. Boelyn called me apperantly from the convention hall." When her daddy came though, she smiled sweetly, her eyes on him. "I am ok daddy...just a little flesh wound is all." She smiled bravely for his sake, not wanting her daddy to worry in the least. By the time the men came back in she was fast asleep, the morphine knocking her out.
