I don't normally post on here, but after reading these posts, I decided I would. I am not involved with the office. I am not involved with anyone running for office. With that said, I would like to add to this discussion.

It is very important that the incoming coroner and/or the staff of the incoming coroner have the certifications needed. If someone takes office and doesn’t hold the certifications needed, what happens to the cases between taking office and getting the certifications? I may be mistaken, but I thought that the certification course were only held at certain times of the year, so it isn’t like you can run out and get the certification tomorrow if you are elected today.

Completely changing the staff of the coroner’s office seems very risky on a lot of levels. Personally, I am voting for the person with the most experience. I don’t want to see things slip through the cracks with an inexperienced person in office. I am sure all of the candidates would do their best in office, but this isn’t an office to take lightly. This is an office that requires some experience. Being an EMT does not qualify you as a death investigator.
