You are absolutely right in that the certification course for a Medicolegal Death Investigator is only held certain times a year. For example, for 2012 one course was in February and another will be in September and as of now those are the only courses offered in the year. Therefore, it would be very difficult and as you stated risky to comppletely change the coroner's staff. I personally know the current coroner, chief deputy coroner, and most of the deputites and they all exemplify the meaning of Respect, Integrity, and Professionalism. It takes a certain person to do the job that these individuals do and they do it with care and compassion for all involved. Sue definitely has my vote.
