Add not knowing the language to that fear. You are right about your points of "what if it were you". I could picture this happening to any of us who are perhaps at a party and somebody there is doing a drug deal or other. Not defending the illegal alien issue at all, but some of these people are just trying to support their families and I would guess that some are above board.
