To the Editor:
Attention freedom-loving Hoosiers: Did you know that current law allows a sewer district to force you to connect and pay their fees, even if your septic system is in good working order? There is a bill in the Indiana General Assembly this year that would change that.
House Bill 1225 would allow you a free choice in connecting to a sewer, as long as your septic system is functioning properly. This important bill has a committee hearing set for this Wednesday, January 18.
Contact your state representative and make your voice heard for the cause of freedom. The telephone number for the State House switchboard is 800-382-9842. You can send an email in support of HB 1225 by going to www.in.gov or you can write your representative at the Indiana House of Representatives - 200 W. Washington St. - Indianapolis, IN 46204.
You can also sign a statewide petition online opposing mandatory sewer connection by going to http://indianafreedoms.org on the web.
