Seems pretty bone-headed of her and her lawyer to be testifying to help convict the fella. He can't pay nothing in jail. Seems like he hasn't been real good on holding a job, but a felony on his record makes it a damn sight less likely he'll be making any payments in the future.

Seems to me if this lawyer of hers were all that sharp and really gave a shit about her and her kids (not to mention getting paid, which sure seems to be a priority given the way she's billing and the way she went after his parents, of all things!), you'd of thought she'd be flipping to the other side of this thing. Get on his side and get the appeal worked out so he might have a shot at a job some day. Better still, she aught to be working on filing that suit against the county - seems like a slam dunk civil rights violation - he wins that and Loechel gets paid, twice, once for the part ordered in the divorce and then for the appeal and counter suit.

I expect she's too caught up in the whole thing to do what's best for her client, though. That girl wouldn't be going after the fella that shared her bed and fathered her children as hard as she has if the lawyer weren't in there fanning the flames. The more they fight, the more imaginary money she makes. Pity she's passing up the real payday and leaving both of them in the ditch. Not too bright.
