Dan's case did not have to come to this point.
Since they employ victims advocates, they should help people with issues of contention early on (this would diffuse anger and difficult people or issues the system created). They could identify real threats to the Judge or system. They could reduce issues that will become serious if ignored (like Dan's claims).
Court needs a qualified psychiatrist in addition to guess work of Psychs. who provide no objective evaluations and no knowledge of appropriate psych. meds., or their administration. MDs also not fully qualified to change psych. meds. prescribed by a specialist.
Since this psychologist in Brewington's case was said to be qualified for the courts in custody evals., it is surprising that his witness statements in Dan's conviction trial reflect total bafflement of Mr. Brewington's behavior or how to treat it? This seems unlikely ignorance and even possibly ingenuous that he claimed total bewilderment.
Standard practice near DC in Psych. treatment and knowledge seems to be inadequately behind the times.
All the efforts by our Sheriff's dept. in appearing to discourage or intimidate Dan Brewington from the onset, could have been attempted in a less caustic and more helpful way by victim advocate who actually tried to be helpful instead of obstructive to a citizen seeking answers to problems he perceived.
