The fire fighter example was not meant to knock fire fighters it was to show that the community spirit is fading fast in this community. Look around and you will find examples all over.

But on the subject of the fire department....The fire department demanded the city build that building and equip it with commercial grade equipment. It hasn't been there that long, I think it was built in 2005 or 2006. Now that money is down the drain. It doesn't bother them to blow the city of Lawrenceburg's money on something and then walk away.

It would be different had they not wanted the building built to replace their old one that the city tore down. The volunteer spirit seems to be gone. That used to be a thing of pride with the fire department. Raising money for the children's charity. It has nothing to do with the department being paid. It is that they just don't have the pride they used to have.

Again, I am not knocking fire fighters, I am saying that people seem to lack the spirit to do anything to help the community anymore. They would rather take the easy way out.

I can see the same thing happening in other places with other organizations. The fire fighters were just an example of how the community pride is going away. Maybe I should use the example of...drive down the road and look at the trash thrown out. Where is the community pride? Why do people not care about the community anymore?
