So sorry to hear of your loss. For people who say losing a pet is NOT like losing a member of your family, well those people have either not owned a pet or else just have no feelings. When we lost our cat a few yrs back I had no idea how hard it would be.
And for this to happen on or near your birthday is totally not fair. Hope your son does okay with the news. My heart goes out to him.
