Subject: Jericho?????

I was reading Dark Highlander this weekend and I read something that was interesting.

I believe on Page 16 it was talking about the Druid Sect of the Draghar. The Leader, Simon, was saying that (and dont quote me on this becasue I dont have my notes in front of me) he had been awaiting for the fulfillment of the prophecy since the day of his initiation into the inner Sanctum of the Order, 32 years ago, which coincided with the birth of his first son.

32 is a good age for Jericho, is it not????????? The Sect is of Druid decent, so he would know of the ways of the Druids (healing spells, the Voice, etc.,)but because of his family linkage the Shades would be afraid of him, and the Master would be suprised to see him on the opposite side (Their perplexed looks in the Wharehouse).

My guess so far is that Jericho is on the good side, but after reading this, I am starting to believe that maybe he is torn because of his family backgroung (if this theory holds true) and what is right.

Sorry if this has been mentioned and I have not finished reading DH so I may find something that would refute this, but I figured I would throw this out there.

[> Simon's last name is Barton-Drew. JB could have changed his last name..... As for Aoibheal's five Druids we know that three of them are Cian, Dageus and Drustan. Might it be possible that the other 2 are Dagus and Drustan's youner twin brothers or their descendants... Silvan and Nell also had a set of twin Keltar boys.... -- Trixie, 13:26:44 12/18/06 Mon [1]

[> Also, when Dageus is chained to the pillar and "releases" the Draghar we are lead to believe that all members of the sect present were killed. We must assume then that Simon and his two sons had been killed at that time since his sons were the ones that kidnapped Chloe from outside the castle in Scotland and brought her to the Belthew building in England where Simon had captured Dageus....therefore the theory that I pose, is that JB is NOT Simon's son. -- Trixie, 17:54:06 12/18/06 Mon [1]

[> [> As you said -- 'members of the sect' are killed --- according to Michelle's theory Jericho is not a member of a sect , just an unfortunate member of the family. And it could be that Simon had more than 2 sons. Said that, I still believe that jericho is neither son of Simon or directly related to either of the previous heros. I vote that Jericho is a present or excile Fae. -- veronica, 10:04:54 12/19/06 Tue [1]

[> [> [> Jericho???? -- Michelle, 11:42:56 12/19/06 Tue [1]

I did finish DH last night and did see that the members of the sect were killed (i think six to be exact). But also on Page 16 (i think that was the page that the quote was from) his initiation into the sect coincided with the birth of his first son.

I think that it did mention that his son that phoned about the re-apperence of Chole and Dageus from the 16th century was his son whose name was Hugh (dont quote me on that).

So yes it is a possibility that he maybe had another son.

[> [> [> [> He said he had more than one son, but wasn't specific on the number of sons. His oldest son was 32 at the time of DH, and DF takes place roughly 5-6 years after that. So it's very possible that some of his sons could have been in their early to mid twenties, and are now in their early thirties now. Not only that, but the Draghar sect had people who financed them all over the world. The inner circle of the Order was privvy to the purpose and the prophecy, and I am pretty sure that there are more than 6 in the Order, not to mention the financiers and others around the world. I'm interested to see if they turn up and what their role in DF could possibly be. -- Libby, 14:20:25 12/19/06 Tue [1]

[> [> [> DARKFEVER -- AMY, 21:19:10 12/22/06 Fri [1]

I finished reading Darkfever today. I, too, am leaning toward the idea that Barron is Fae, especially after his mention of speaking to V'lane (prince of the Fae) about the encounter with Mac. How does a sidhe-seer talk to a prince of Fae without fear and why didn't the shades attack him when he was walking in the Dark Zone?

[> [> [> [> Welcome Amy! I think Mac's lack of fear when she speaks to V'lane is because she knows she can freeze him momentarily, and after she gets the spear she can really scare him. I think it's kind of funny that a big, bad, fae prince is scared of a girl. As far as the Shades not being scared of JB, there has been so much speculation that I think I"m going to wait until the next book to build on any of those theories. -- Libby, 22:11:36 12/22/06 Fri [1]

[> [> [> [> [> Jerico -- Cindy, 14:14:13 12/28/06 Thu [1]

I think the fact that the shades are afraid of Jerico is not that they are afraid but that they don't see him because he is wearing an armband. Remember V'lane offered Mac a similar band to help disguise or hide her from these creatures?

[> Jericho Barns -- njwiley, 13:09:09 12/22/06 Fri [1]

HI, I'm new to this, but I think Jerico is older than 32. The old woman who runs his bookstore seems to have known him quite well and for a LONG time. I think maybe he is a differnt race than the Fae.
