Subject: author suggestions to read while waiting for Bloodfever

Does anyone have any other author suggestions to read while very paitently waiting for the new Bloodfever? I order the Pamela Clare (looks good so far, thanks for the post) and I have all the Sherilyn Keynon. Any others that are good?

Have you read the Circle Trilogy or Three Sisters Trilogy by Nora Roberts? I enjoyed both and I am told the Key trilogy is also good but I have not read it (all three have mystical/magical storylines). Since KMM is my favorite author and will buy without a second thought, I tend to be a little overcritical of other authors, but these I did enjoy and bought the books as well.

Kenyon also pens as Kinley MacGregor. The MacAllister series is pretty good. Not as hot as KMM, though. Other favorites of mine are Johanna Lindsey, Julia London, Lynn Kurland (good stories, no steam). Galeyn Foley is good too. Others I have read and enjoyed are Julie Garwood and Jane Feathers. As far as steaminess goes, Foley is the only one who can compare to KMM. But if you are really into All things Scottish - read Diana Gabaldon the Outlander series. Not steamy, but an incredible read. The dynamics between the characters, and the descriptions of the Highlands is wonderful. Hope this helps - - sorry for the dissertation!

Yup, read them all. Thanks for the tips and yes I agree, Galen Foley is the best but I only recently discovered her.

[> Reading Suggestions -- Nikki, 15:34:04 01/29/07 Mon [1]

Hi Gwen, I'm a newbie to posting but I would suggest Linda Howard's "Son of the Morning"! It has it's own time travel, highlander, castle, sci-fi stuff and steamy scenes! This is not Linda's usual forum but she's a great writer and this book is wonderful! Another one I've enjoyed is Kinley MacGregor's Lord of Avalon series, there's only 2: Sword of Darkness and Knight of Darkness! Enjoy (-:

That was my first foray into the paranormal romance department. The entire series is My-Answer-to-Harry-Potter...then I found the Highlander series....FAR and ABOVE more enjoyable. But it doesn't hurt to have a back-up.

[> Gwen - If you need a "fix" of Highlanders, Give Hannah Howell's books a try. She is straight historical but I think that you will enjoy her books. My favorites so far have been, Highland Bride & Highland Warrior. I just finished Highland Groom which I enjoyed very much (great plot). Like KMM's books, Hannah Howell's book covers also feature sexy, Nathan Kamp! -- Sue Z, 09:40:16 01/30/07 Tue [1]

Gwen: for a lighter change of pace, Susan Elizabeth Phillips writes romance that are particularly funny as well. She has a great sense of humor and her characters roam around her novels. "Aint' She Sweet", by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. It's a great book, it's all in there, revenge, money, sex, hate/love, humor, etc etc etc. You won't feel as though you've wasted your money or time.
