Subject: perhaps it is a case of some of the vendors not knowing about the feis, or that the associated costs of being there are simply not worth their effort ..after all unless they already have a child dancing in the particular feis then it is a specific trip for them..and if it is a smaller feis with likelyhood of small sales there is a good chance the trip would end up costing them money... thereby forcing htem to raise prices even more - it is a vicious circle... I guess they have to weigh up the pros and cons of each feis and consider whether it is viable for them. At least you get vendors - I have to send away interstate or overseas and trust catalogues and internet...
In reply to: more choice please 's message, "i agree, often at ordinary feis i've only seen one vendor selling wigs and stuff, do vendors only want to do big feis like majors and dont consider ordinary feis worth their time," on Fri, Feb 16 2007, 2:22:34

[> [> [> Hey Lee, hope you're well. I have to say after speaking to a couple of vendors, they are told they cannot be accomadated because certain other vendors are paying 500.00 up front to keep other vendors OUT. Thats ok for the vendor to pay the 500.00 but what about our choice. Not evreryone has a credit card etc. So I'd like to go to a feis see a CHOICE and get what I'd like -- only my lil opinion., Fri, Feb 16 2007, 10:22:29 [1]

[> [> [> [> OMG .. paying to keep the competition OUT.. they mustn't be very confident of their product. If they did that here in Australia it would raise eyebrows with Consumer Affairs...I don't have a credit card either so I use Paypal (can be linked to a normal bank account ) or I also have Debit only Visa . .which means I have to put cash into it to be able to use it... it does stop you from overspending..lol. -- Lee in Darwin, Sat, Feb 17 2007, 5:41:42 [1]
