Subject: and of course then you can see another country instead of just hearing about it and looking at photos.... great learnign experience for the whole family....love to travel - its just that sometimes I don't want a 20 hour flight to get there...lol... bring on rotation, it works for most national comps...

[> Traditionally the Worlds were always held in Ireland, the home of irish dancing. After CLRG agreed to let it go to Glasgow in 2202, this really opened the championships up to the rest of the world. If they can allow it to go outwith Ireland to one country, then they have no reason against not allowing it to go to other countries where ID is practised. I for one couldn't afford to go when it goes to USA however I believe it is a World event and should therefore be allowed all over the World. Why should dancers from the same countries have to fork out every year for flights/hotels etc? Might put it out of our reach, but it will put it within reach of many local dancers who are unable to travel to UK. Good luck to them and enjoy the experience. -- old_dancemum, Sat, Apr 14 2007, 22:02:58 [1]
