Date Posted: 10/11/07 1:35am In reply to: Vernon 's message, "Remembrance Day (Armistice Day)" on 7/11/07 11:48pm hi vernon hope you well mate.i totally agree we must never forget the ultimate sacrifice gave bye all in the name of world peace by all creeds and religions.they gave the ultimate.but once again i must bring this up .the merchant navy is still left in the shadows of the other three forces and still regarded as the forth service.the bbc has recently interviewed on the natonal news dedicated to these heroes of ours ex army/airforce/r.n./ havnt as yet seen an interview with an aged ex merchant seaman 100 yrs plus.there are people on this site who went through hell especially arctic convoys.and werever the u boats picked them off in the worls oceans. after all we are an island.and without them convoys this island may well have gone under.i rest my case and of course will wear my poppy with pride and without predjudise.just like a little more recognition for the merchantmen that also paid the ultimate regards {terry scouse}.
