Date Posted: 13/11/07 12:03pm In reply to: Phil McAvity 's message, "looking for ship" on 10/11/07 1:17pm I joined the Highland Princess in October 1941 as a boy rating (16),done four trips and left in March 1943 by then a sailor rating.Those two years were the some of my happy times,there was a Belgium 4 officer who assisted me towards my 2 mates certificate also the boswain who taught me seamanship.Two of us on lower deck made Master.I have the voyage reports for that period.Please contact me if your uncle was in the same period as myself.
