It was Ted's son that joined his first ship 'The Essex Envoy' at Barry at the tender age of 14 & threequarters! She was a tramp steamer owned by the Essex Line. It was Her Cpt. that was called Churchill. It is believed that he was later Court Marshalled for his decisions. Ted's son apparently did not get home to Lewisham - London til just short of 21! Would love any further assistence / info / history of the 'The Essex Envoy' pics etc and anything on the possible mutiny etc. Thanks in advance Keith.
