Subject: SOME THOUGHTS BEFORE TONIGHT'S COMPETITION

Hi everyone!

Sorry, I didn’t get to the talent and onstage reviews like I wanted to. We went on an excursion to some of the beautiful coastal towns since they are potentially calling for some wintry weather tomorrow. In fact, it is supposed to start tonight, so I hope that it holds out until the competition is over. I have never been to New England in Christmas, and this is gorgeous. I am totally in love. I would move here in a heartbeat 😊 Especially lower NE. I wouldn’t like all of the snow of Maine, but Connecticut or Rhode Island would be perfectly fine with me 😊 I wanted to run down talent by each contestant, but I won’t have time to do that right now. Believe it or not, we are keeping busy. I know there was the complaint that there would be nothing to do, but we are doing just fine. At least until tomorrow, maybe. But then we are planning on going to Providence on Wednesday and staying the whole day and stay around and look at some of the holiday displays and such at night.

As far as the competition, I must apologize and say-please don’t mind me. I think I was shocked at the reality of everything last night. Anyone who gives a damn about this program would have been shocked. It’s like seeing someone with bad plastic surgery, or something. Or seeing some beautiful place you loved to visit destroyed. Everything went to pot. I would YEARN for last year’s competition at this time. At least there was evening gown. And I don’t want to give the impression that the contestants who spoke last night did poorly in any way. Some did indeed stand out more than others. But what was more either frustrating or just boring was that everyone sounded the same. I did enjoy hearing about the different platforms, but that’s about the only thing that distinguished the contestants.

Just a quick rundown of talents-very good last night. I also wanted to say that Ohio, Iowa and Colorado had good performances as well, I forgot to include them last night. Some of the contestants I would have called “average” like South Dakota, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Connecticut, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Hampshire. To me, the weakest talents were Oregon, New York, South Carolina and Pennsylvania. Nobody in this group was horrendous at all. These were just the weakest. They might have seemed a little cheesy or that they just didn’t have a top level talent.

As far as tonight-I want to mention this now. Don’t be surprised if GA or NJ is a double preliminary winner. I know it’s all a long shot, and it’s hard to say what will win. I do know that tonight’s talent group will be weaker than last night, and NJ does have a pretty strong talent. Also, with GA’s personality, I would not be surprised to see her win either the private interview or onstage question. But I could be way off. Just saying, it’s a possibility. It’s very hard to say what is going to happen with three judges. And should they, I wouldn’t call either the next Miss America. There are only going to be 6 winners at most, and that means the next 9 called out will be high scorers. It may be that they are a point or two off and the final judges might fall in love with them. It’s just so hard to predict. But since I make a high living off of predicting pageants (lol), I am just putting out what I think might happen tonight.

I will post a first thoughts later tonight, and then I should be able to catch up with the talent by tomorrow. Until then, enjoy!
