HELLO!!!

I am still here, although you'd never know it by all of this spam. I am going to clean up this board this afternoon and get ready for pageant week.

Tonight's preliminary I think is non-talent. If it is anything like last year they run non-stop with no breaks in between. If it is all of the competitions-fitness, whatever they call onstage question, I am not sure about platform questions or whatever they are called now. It will be a tight ship tonight. I will do as I did last year and try and get as much in during the preliminary as I post but will then have full commentary after the fact.

Happy New Year to all of you! There is a good reason I haven't been around that started last year at this time. I am pursuing a doctorate degree. To say that life has been jam packed is the understatement of the century. I actually started last spring semester so even last year I wasn't quite as free to post. But, with this change I can get plenty in. Quite frankly, this is not the best time for a pageant. But, we take what we can get at this point. In any given year it could always be the last. This year in particular the legal battles over the pageant really put its future in jeopardy, at least at the national level. However, this year we'll still have a lot of fun.

Stop back and in the meantime, please feel free to share about your state contestants. I haven't gotten a chance to see a lot of the state pageants this year, so I am in the dark. One of my favorites this year is Miss Kentucky, I remember her from her teen days and she was one who always stood out. With their success and being back on the map, I think we might see good things from her-she's got good talent. One of the other contestants I am keeping my eye on is Florida. She seemed to have a convincing victory at Miss Florida, strong across the board, and Florida always rises to the occasion.

Let's get this party started!

It was supposed to happen earlier in my life but overall, the students with me are not younger, either. It is just my time :)
