I avoided all media until I could sit down and watch Miss Universe. With the exception of Kate Shindle's year, I do not generally subscribe to conspiracy theories or contests being rigged or influenced. However, WTF just happened? I saw a DOMINANT night from Cote d'Ivoire and she's 4th runner up and the winner barely got by? I saw NOTHING to warrant her win. That is not new at Miss USA/Universe, but this winner is completely lackluster. I was iffy on whether she'd get out of the top 30. I am not sure she was even excited. On a night where there was some legit good competition, I do not understand this. It seems like neither did the audience.

I would have had a totally different top 5. I thought Puerto Rico had a bigger ego than her gown but she definitely brought her game. And I LOVED Guadeloupe, she was on fire last night. I would have had them in the top 5 along with Cuba, who stood out. I had Thailand, Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, Cuba and a wild card in the top 5. I guess you can't ever let out Philippines or Venezuela but even they probably skated on their country reputations.
