I was about 5 years old. My mother was giving me a bath and I was splashing around, getting lots of water on the bathroom floor. My mother warned me a few times to stop horsing around and to behave. I ignored the repeated warnings and paid for it with my first spanking.

When my bath was over, my mother told me to stand up. She was already sitting on the little stool that she pulled in front of the bathtub whenever it was my washtime. She got my towel, but instead of starting to dry me off, she folded it up and put it across her lap. I was ordered to exit the tub, which I did. As soon as my feet hit the bathmat I was pulled across the towel and across my mother's lap. My mother reached down and took off one of her slippers (the kind with the hard plastic sole). Then I was welcomed into the world of bare bottom spanking.

My mother gave my bare, wet backside about 2 dozen good hard spanks with her slipper. After the first couple of whacks, I gasped in shock, my eyes became wide as saucers, and I must have made the funniest face in the history of the world. Then the stinging pain arrived and I spent the next minute bawling my eyes out as each spank increasingly lit my butt on fire.

Finally it was over and off my mother's lap I went. I stood on the bathmat while my mother dried me off. I tried (with little success) to rub away the searing pain in my buttocks. After I was dry, I was sent to my room to get dressed. Once in my room, I shut the door and looked at myself in the full-length mirror attached to the back of my bedroom door. Almost 40 years later, I still remember what I saw...my butt looked like 2 red tomatoes. It took a couple hours for the lingering sting to completely go away.

That was my first spanking - the first of many, many more to come over the next 8-9 years.
