It is not a Miss Illinois prelim, so it isn't related to our organization and I hope we don't get any bad PR from it. I think it has to do with a child winning Marion Main Street, but her mother was a co-director/volunteer. When she won people complained that it was a conflict of interest. This appears to be easily addressed privately. Maybe the mom is going to be butt hurt or the board is going to need to issue an apology, but this should be handled privately and like adults. Nobody really cares about the princess program. As far as most people are concerned, it could go away. But I don't think you can be angry that someone (Gail) had the sense to say it didn't seem right.
