AUSTRALIAN pop singer Guy Sebastian bought a four-bedroom Maroubra home for $3.115 million.
Sebastian had an agent bidding on his behalf, believed to be his financial adviser. The spacious property had a reserve of $3 million.

The home attracted an opening bid of $2.5 million, with Sebastian's agent placing her first bid at $2.7 million.

The impressive home, which has a tennis court and heated pool, sits on a 1336sq m block and has been in the same family for more than 75 years.

Agent Martin Farah from N G Farah Real Estate said the vendors were extremely happy.

"They are very big fans of Guy so when they knew he bought it they were over the moon," Mr Farah said.

Sebastian and his wife Jules sold their four-bedroom Clovelly home earlier this year for $2.22 million.

OTHER SALES

A Clovelly property recorded the top auction result of the week selling for $4.2 million.

The home at 6 Eastbourne Ave sold prior to auction to a young local family, according to Belle Property Bondi Junction agent Daniel Gillespie.

"All the interested parties were local," Mr Gillespie said.

With 30 buyers through the property during the campaign there were three that were very interested, he said.

"The buyers loved the position - that was what it was all about
for them."

A Mascot property has sold for $1.122 million, the highest price seen for a semi-detached house in the suburb.

The property at 48 Hughes Ave attracted 11 registered bidders with an opening bid of $900,000.

The four-bedroom home sold for $72,000 over reserve.

Agent Jenine McMahon from Ray White Maroubra said there was a lot of interest in the home with around 20 contracts issued.

"It had a lot of character and charm, with a good room configuration," Ms McMahon said.

RP Data figures show the median price for a house in Mascot is $803,000.
