Terent walked into the Lower Caverns, carrying his prized hunting bird, Jewelclaw. He had her hooded, and jessed. He had a thick glove on his right hand to protect his skin from his bird's claws.
"You be good, Jewel, or we go home, and I leave you there." he whispered.
He inched his way towards a table with a group of people his age. There was a plain looking girl with a shirt that didn't quite meet her pants, and boy with reddish eyes, and a boy that looked like the girl. There was also a beautiful girl, carrying a dainty gold flit. He said to the group, though his eyes were for the beautiful girl with the fire lizard, "Do you mind if I join you? I just got here, so I really don't know many people."
He tore his eyes away from the beautiful girl, and looked at the group, though he couldn't help coming back to the one girl when he had looked at all the people at the table.
He had just heard them introduce themselves, so he guessed that the plain girl was Cara, the red eyed boy was Shadow, and the other boy was Graythron. That meant that the beautiful chick was Faini, and her flit was Skyi.

(Sorry! I just had to make him have a major crush on Faini(she used to be Pup's, and I decided that I would make a character that liked her then, but i just got to do it.)
