Isaiah Thomas met with PJ Carlesimo today to discuss the Knicks Head Coach position. Thomas has already met with Phil Jackson but could PJ be on his way back to New York to coach the Knicks?

A potential major boost for Fordham Basketball.

let's not overstate things. It would be nice to see PJ or any Fordham alum in a position like the head coach of the Knicks but the impact would be indirect and minor compared to other factors. We already tried to sell kids on an NBA connection but it didn't result in much success. Good luck to PJ but let's not get carried away by what it means to Fordham. Agree, it's foolish to argue that Fordham's a pipeline to the NBA, as the Bob Hill disaster proved. But PJ could surely help his alma mater get back into the Garden for some games. (NT) -- John, 10:08:46 04/30/05 Sat

I think it would be great for Fordham and great for Fordham Basketball if he got the Knicks job. He's a big supporter and will help in any way he can, including I'm sure helping us get back in the Garden to play. (NT) -- Rambacker, 12:14:43 04/30/05 Sat

I'm sure he's a great supporter and clearly his family has been very involved in Fordham over the years but let's not forget that it was on PJ's watch that Seton Hall stopped coming to Rose Hill. (NT) -- bfg, 10:36:31 05/01/05 Sun

I believe that 13 members of the Carlesimo family(brothers, cousins, etc) have graduated from Fordham. Can anyone confirm that number? (NT) -- Rambacker, 16:57:16 05/01/05 Sun

Not that I'm running Frank out the door,(because I like Frank, and what he does for Fordham is underappreciated) but I think PJ would be a great executive AD for Fordham. (NT) ConnRam99 11:42:53 05/02/05 Mon

PJ will certainly play more golf at baltusrol if he becomes knick coach. (NT) pjd 20:27:57 05/03/05 Tue
