In response to the Richmond Times Dispatch article(s) regarding the possibility of Richmond moving to the PL, Richmond football supporters went work, and, according to their message board, campaigned against the move to the Patriot League. According to their board, their please have been heard and tomorrow Richmond's BOT will vote to go to the CAA for football.

The reaction of Richmond alums here is very similar to the reaction Fordham alums had when we were about to join the PL in all sports. There was a near all-out rebellion. And ultimately we did the right thing and left the PL in all sports but football. I hope that I am wrong but I would be amazed if the decision re. fball is anything but remaining in the PL. Also expect some words, but likely not actions, that we will strive to be a top "50" (or pick a lower number) bball program. If that ends up being the case, then our stated goal would not be matched by an appropriate action. In this case, if we want to be a Top 40-50 basketball program, we will have to build a convocations center. Alums and students need to make their position known on this to Fr. McShane and the Board. I disagree slightly. St. Joe's is consistently around the top 40-50 schools yet they lack a good on campus facility. We need a new convocations facility for a wide variety of reasons.
