10) Tear down that AWFUL tower -- I know that it is supposed to be done soon... But it can't be soon enough !!
9) Move baseball to a parking lot or an off-campus location (this would be the only sport to not have an on-campus facility but Fordham needs to realize that this is the only way to make Coffey Field a respectable stadium)
8) Turf the field -- which is underway
7) Plant some shrubs or do some minor landscaping behind the end zones...
6) Trim the Trees so that Keating Tower overlooks the stadium -- (can't even see Keating right now)
5) Put in a small set of stands on the visitors side to maybe seat about 2,000 people... (that would make the stadium a 9,000 seat stadium -- which is a good goal for Fordham football to achieve)
4) Build new locker rooms / coaching offices (for all sports) where the infield & right field is now located.
3) Have the band at least dress respectfully in the same uniforms & play where they can be heard
2) Make sure all soccer nets, batting cages, etc. that dont pertain to the game be properly stored away...
1) Have a monument or something to Jack Coffey -- no one even knows why the field is named after him... (maybe a little statue or something with his achievements)

I like many of your suggestions.. Perhaps some brick work and a black wrought iron fence seperating the stands to the playing surface would also add character... An "FU" in the middle (50 yard line) of the fencing.. A statue or sculpture of some sort also would add chartacter commerating "Coffey".... I know the band wants to sit close to cheerleaders but you are correct by stating that they should sit higher and closer to midfield.. The sound would multiply and carry rather than where the band currently sits... (NT)A-10 soon..15:45:17 02/22/05 Tue

Good stuff. Not sure how much some of this stuff would cost or where the money would come from, but as long as we're wishing I'll throw out there to put even more than just modest bleachers on the visitors side of the football field. Also, given that the "stadium" is one of the first things you see as you enter campus, I'd love to see it be done well ... something in line with how the other buildings on campus look. Again, just a wish list. (NT)Ramalamadingdong13:33:55 02/23/05 Wed

Jack Coffey,a Fordham graduate, played 110 games in the Major Leagues in 1909 and 1918. He played and managed in the minors and came back to Fordham as head baseball coach in 1922. He continued in that post for more than 30 years. See http://www.1918redsox.com/players/coffey.htm (NT)STL_RAM6616:03:19 02/23/05 Wed

Re-do the men's bathroom in McGinley basement and name it in honor of Frank. (NT)C. Rapper18:43:01 02/24/05 Thu
