Our conference does include our two most played rivals, Holy Cross and Georgetown, and hopefully both the Crusaders and the Hoyas turn their programs around soon. Meaningful and competitive games against HC and G-Town would be something great. I like the idea of the three teams, each representing a Jesuit college, playing each year for the "Loyola Cup," akin to the Commissioner's Cup series played by the I-A service academies. At their current funding levels, don't expect Holy Cross or Georgetown to be successful soon. Both programs are underfunded. I'd like to see Fordham, Holy Cross and Georgetown go full scholarship 1-AA and compete with Nova, William and Mary, Richmond, Delaware, etc. The scholarships would ensure a level of quality that will excite alums and students and give us a chance to go deep into the playoffs. The average per male athlete aid amount for Holy Cross and Georgetown is amazingly low. How the hell can you compete. Full schollies in football at the 1-AA level would solve the problem for Georgetown and Holy Cross. Georgetown, Holy Cross and Fordham should all make the move. Re: Great story...my father often talks about the Ram-Gael games from when he was a kid - the lineups alone merited a whole section of the Daily News, Herald, etc. It was one of the two biggest annual FB games in NYC at that time; the other was ND-Army.
