Subject: I say this without knowing any of the facts, but if we are looking to add 2 women's sports it is either b/c we need them b/c we are not currently in compliance with Title IX or we are doing it to be set and ready to move to scholarship football. As much as most of us probably hope it is the latter, it unfortunately is most likely the former.

I agree those are two very possible reasons, but it really could be that the university feels we now have the facilities and demand for either of those two sports, and that offering them would make us more competitive with certain other schools who already have them. I look at the lockerroom, fieldturf, lights, and possible visitors stands as being more suggestive of a possible upgrade to scholarship football than the consideration of two additional women's sports (especially given the m-f ratios).
