i know exactly what you're talking about, medeis. i've always been a lone wolf, my entire life. of course, let's not go into the fact that originally it was not by choice. some wolves know when they are loners and separate. others are viciously driven out by the pack.

let's just say that mine was not a personal choice i would have made at six years old. :0)

however, as a lone wolf i was free to discover aspects of my nature that i never would have as a lemming. i discovered that it fit my own personal views beautifully, and that result influenced my views about lemmings that never would have occurred to me otherwise.

self-fullfilling prophecy? perhaps. would i have it any other way? definitely not.

i completely understand how you could feel bitter about it, medeis. i, too, find myself a bitter (and cynical) person. i like to think of myself as 'realistic.' i totally know where you're coming from.

as for sounding high and mighty, it never would have occurred to me. i relate thoroughly. however, for those of the herd that wouldn't understand, you are seen as not only sitting atop your high horse, but vain and arrogant...and completely missing out on the pleasures of life voluntarily. you are someone to be pitited, and make those of the herd glad they're not you.

however, i wouldn't worry too much about what the lemmings think of you. they're status quo, while we lone wolves are so far above the status quo that we see in color while the herds are still in black and white. the view is much better up here, above the status bar, isn't it? :0)
