Subject: You are not alone non-believers!

Things are changing at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. Who knows, maybe one day I could even be welcomed into the Vietnam Security Police Facebook Group! I know it sounds crazy but it COULD happen!

Surveys, studies and polls conducted in recent years suggest about a third of Americans are non-religious. I suspect that it may be a far larger number closer to 40% but for the social stigmatization of anything that smacks of atheism. This article says that OVER A QUARTER of all Lackland trainees that attend "religious' services are attending a rapidly growing Secular Humanist service that was first instituted in 2013.

Maybe someone at the reunion can attend services and give us a report.

Freedom of conscience is central to freedom and American values. It is great to see the growing acceptance of diverse world views. This freedom is what we fought for. Thank you all for your service to defending our Constitutional ideals.

Ken
