Subject: Prostate Cancer and the VA

My first post dealt with the medical issues, now I want to tell you how I dealt w2ith the Va. I have had Agent Orange related diabetes for quite a few years and when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer a lot of the information available said the veterans with Agent orange issues have a high occurrence of this problem, including VA publications. Knowing what a PITA it is to deal with the VA I started looking for options. I have ben a member of DAV for quite a while, so I set-up a visit with the local Rep and let me tell you it was a GREAT visit. He said they would handle everything in dealing with the VA so I wouldn't have to bother with much. My point is If you have an issue with the VA use these organizations to help you. In Atlanta the one that reps. here are the Am. Legion, VFW, Amvets, DAV and Purple Heart. So please keep this in mind if the need arises. Steve
